Thoughts on the Bible Question

My quick thoughts are...

Let's say that there are more epistles out there that no one has found, or they were lost early on and not included in the canon of scripture. In fact, many would argue this very point - that there are more letters/gospels besides the Bible. But that is a whole other debate that the First Council of Nicaea addressed, and I think I will leave that alone. For whatever reason, God let that happen for a purpose.

I believe that God has provided us His perfect word - the Bible. I believe it is complete and accurate, and encompasses all that we as believers need to know to live life according to God's design and purpose. Therefore, I must conclude no extra letters should be canonized. If we were to elect to place more letters into the canon of scripture, that would mean that the Word was imperfect, incomplete. I believe the canon of scripture is closed.

That is what first comes to mind for me, but I am always up for debate.

I was thinking along the same lines too. Thanks for telling me what you were thinking!

I think that any new book would be met with a LOT of criticism from Christians and non-Christians alike.

I believe God would have to do some supernatural stuff to get another book accepted into the canon.
